The Arab Economic Forum Honors Mr. Adel Al-Majed
The Arab Economic Forum has honored Mr. Adel Abdul Wahab Al-Majed, Chairman of Kuwait Banking Association, and Vice-Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Boubyan Bank, owing to his great and remarkable contributions during his career which spanned over 3 decades in the banking business.
Al-Majed was honored in the ceremony which was held as a part of the Forum’s activities in the presence of H.E. Mr. Saad Al-Hariri, Prime Minister of Lebanon, and H.E. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, as well as a number of Arab ministers, bankers and officials.
Al-Majed was honored in recognition of his contributions to the Kuwaiti Banking Sector over more than 35 years at the National Bank of Kuwait and Boubyan Bank in addition to his role in the Kuwait Banking Association where he assumes the current Chairman’s position, and as he is regarded as one of the contributors to the growth of the banking industry in Kuwait and the region as a whole.
Mr. Al-Majed’s chapter with Boubyan Bank is a success story where he reversed the loss position of the bank to a profitable position while multiplying the bank’s market share in various sectors, making Boubyan the bank of choice among the Kuwaiti youth coupled with its excellence in digital banking.
Al-Majed thanked the Forum’s organizers for selecting him as one of the influential people in the Kuwaiti and Arab banking sector, and confirmed that such a recognition serves as a recognition of the Kuwaiti Banking Sector which took great and significant leaps over the past years.
He added: “After a long career serving the Kuwaiti banking sector, I am grateful to all those I have worked with who added to my banking expertise as well as my colleagues that I have the honor to have worked with everyday towards developing this important sector.”
It is worth mentioning that the activities of the 27th edition of the Arab Economic Forum were launched in Beirut with the participation of more than 600 figures including ministers, governors of central banks in addition to leadership figures of some banks and companies from Arab countries as well as many other countries.
