For the first time in Kuwait, Boubyan Bank introduces UTap services on all cards; Debit Cards, Credit Cards, and Prepaid Cards, as well as on mobile phones. UTap works with all POS machines supported by NFC technology and on all Boubyan ATMs.

UTap is a fast, convenient, and highly secure service that allows you to make payments and use Boubyan ATMs by simply tapping your Card or your mobile phone on POS machines and ATMs.

Near Field Communication (NFC)

UTap uses the latest NFC technology which allows your card or mobile to communicate with the POS machine or the ATM by simply tapping on it, without having to insert the card into the machine. NFC technology is widely adopted worldwide and is considered the latest and the most reliable banking cards technology.
NFC uses Dynamic Data Authentication (DDA), which provides the highest security and privacy layers. With DDA, the card generates a unique code for each and every transaction, and your private information such as your name and your card’s CVV (the 3-digit code at the back of your card) are never transmitted to any POS machine. With DDA protection, your UTap card is completely secure and does not need a special protective card cover.

UTap Cards

For the first time in Kuwait, Boubyan Bank introduces UTap on all cards (Debit Cards, Credit Cards, and Prepaid Cards). Now you can simply tap your card on the POS to pay for your purchases, or on the UTap sign on Boubyan ATMs to process any transactions instead of inserting your card in the machine. Using NFC technology, your UTap card can communicate remotely with the POS or ATM to allow you to process your transaction securely and conveniently.
All new salary account debit cards are issued with the UTap service.
All new credit cards and prepaid cards are issued with the UTap service.
All expiring cards will be replaced with UTap cards without additional fees.
Existing cardholders can upgrade their current card to UTap card at any Boubyan branch instantly and free of charge.
